- Team Training Rides: We’re always looking for volunteers to host some team training rides, if you are interested you can post the rides on the Facebook page to let others on the team know. You can also send me the information and I will email out to all riders. Starting from the Depot next to the Cargill building at 169 & Excelsior Blvd is a great place to start and end a ride. Also meeting at the Dakota trail-head is another great training ride start point.
- Friday Speakers: If you have friends or family members that are living with MS and they would like to come to our team dinner Friday night and share their story, we would love to have them.
- Saturday/Sunday Morning Hinckley Team Tent:
- Saturday 8am-11am: Help with the setup of tables and chairs, covering tables, setting up food and beverage areas, setting out games.
- Saturday 11am-1pm: Set out the light lunch food, then put away when caterer arrives for the lunch
- Saturday 11am-7pm: General maintenance, replenishing food, drinks, ice, picking up garbage, keeping tables clean, emptying garbage's.
- Saturday 1pm-5pm the caterer will be providing the Taco Bar
- Saturday 5pm-6pm set out the Dessert Bar
- Saturday 7pm-9pm: cleaning up tent, start taking down tables and chairs as riders leave to make for less clean-up Sunday morning.
- Sunday Morning Hinckley Team Tent:
- Sunday 5:30am-8:30am: set out food, juice, make coffee, finish packing up bins and loading truck. Take down remaining tables and chairs, ensure all trash is picked up off grounds and in bags.
- Sunday Century College Finish-line Tent:
- Sunday 10am-5pm: Help with setting up the 2 tables and getting the food on the tables, setting out the iced towels, general clean-up and cheering on the riders as they cross the finish-line
- All Weekend Support Vehicles: Even though the MS Society provides support vehicles it would be nice to have one or two that are just for Cargill riders. This driver would have a vehicle with a bike rack or can easily haul bikes and riders and gear. The support vehicles would be in-charge of picking up Cargill rider belongings that are left at the different rest stops (i.e. jackets, excess clothing). We would have bins labeled “Cargill” that you could leave your items in when you stop at the rest stop. This is not for an emergency, riders will use the MS Society emergency numbers if one arises
- Team Photographers: Come each day and take photos of the riders as they cross different points in the ride; you plan your day when you want to be where. Post the photos to our Facebook page.
- All Weekend Team Logistics: We need help with the following…
- Friday morning to load bikes and gear in Hopkins.
- Friday afternoon in Proctor setting out everyone’s bags.
- Saturday morning collecting bags and unloading/laying out all the bikes for the riders.
- Saturday afternoon, loading bikes back on trucks and setting out all the bags for the riders to grab.
- Sunday morning collecting bags and laying out bikes for riders to grab.
- Sunday afternoon setting out riders bags and other gear left in trucks at Century College for riders to collect after the ride.
If you have friends or family that want to be with you and support you for the weekend, volunteering is a great way to do that.
We usually have 3-4 trucks hauling bikes and gear and we like to have 2 adults in each truck. Volunteers that help with logistics all weekend we will provide your food and lodging. Please contact Kelly or Patrick if you have a volunteer.
